Santa Ana winds have started a fire in Camarillo Ca., which is just over the hill from Thousand Oaks. Hill? It’s a 900 foot elevation change.
I took this photo at 11:50, shortly after fetching my granddaughter from preschool, which closed early as a precaution. It was a 2000 acre fire at the point.
One hour later, it’s become a 6,000 acre fire burning toward the ocean. Fortunately, there is mostly farmland and uninhabited mountains in its path.
