Just hours after news broke of a mass shooting in San Bernadino, Calif., Democratic and anti-gun groups moved swiftly to blame Republicans.

Democracy for America Executive Director Charles Chamberlain called the shooting of at least 28 in the city east of Los Angeles terrorism and blamed easy gun accessibility. He said that because Republicans, and specifically Speaker Paul Ryan, “refuse to stand up to the NRA,” then they are complicit with the killers.

“When Paul Ryan and the entire Republican party refuse to stand up to the NRA and the gun industry and pass common sense gun reforms, they are aiding and abetting those terrorists. Period,” said Chamberlain.

Democrats should be sued for the abuse of the term “common sense.”

Let’s assume for a moment that every gun in America was confiscated and only the police had them.

Could a wannabe terrorist find other ways? Hmm.

  • The Boston marathon jihadis used bombs made from pressure cookers. Must pressure cookers be banned under “common sense” laws?
  • In 1995,  Timothy McVeigh detonated a truck bomb that killed 168 people and injured 600 in Oklahoma City. President Bill Clinton indirectly blamed the incident on conservative talk radio and the mainstream media picked up his cue and created the “angry white male” meme.

“In the wake of yet another tragedy, Republicans need to decide: Are you going to stand with the American people and pass common sense gun reform? Or are you going to continue to side with the terrorists who perpetrate these crimes and the merchants of death in the gun industry who make it easier for them to do it?”
