obama blather
Here’s Obama replying to Bush’s State of the Union. Things to consider:
- Obama pits “Wall Street” versus “Main Street” as if millions of Americans do not have their 401k, mutual funds, pensions fundsĀ and money market accounts in Wall Street. That kind of rhetoric is just so divisive, man!
- Obama claims that Iraq has nothing to do with Al Qaeda and that the war has not made America safer. The first point is laughable - has the man picked up a newspaper? Safer? Impossible to prove either way. But we’ve not had another attack since 9/11.
- Obama spits on the surge and claims the Iraqi government has failed to seize the moment. One, this isn’t true. Two, it’s just an excuse to retreat.
- Obama claims we’ve taken our eye off the ball in Afghanistan. Not so, but it’s a mean world out there and our European allies — the people Obama and his ilk fawn over — are not carrying their weight. For example, the Germans send troops to Afghanistan, but won’t allow them to fight.
- Obama complains about special interest earmarks? Has Obama not heard about Democrat John Murtha? Both parties are pigs at this trough.
- Obama fails to acknowledge that under President Bush, the poor and middle-class are paying the lowest percentage of income taxes.
- Obama abhors, with a straight face, the “broken politics” that allows you to “demonize your political opponents.” His own party leaders have invented scandals (fired US attorneys) and viciously attacked President Bush. His party used the 9/11 Commission as a political weapon and cynically exploited the war on terror as a political weapon.
