Obama:

“I want everybody to be absolutely clear. We are in tough battle. Sen. Clinton is fighting hard; she is tenacious. I want everybody to be absolutely clear; I am not running for vice president; I am running for president of the United States of America. I’m running to be commander in chief.

Clever use of words. Hillary is fighting a lost cause (hers), but she sure is tenacious! Like a stubborn stain.

Obama’s been using the tenacious line everywhere. Here’s the breathless account of his Columbus, Mississippi appearance.

The air in the room was crackling. Jennifer Lehner, mother of two, a relative newcomer to Columbus who has embraced the town and all in it, primed the crowd like a pro: “I am so fired up to be here. Are you fired up?  As a mother it means everything in the world for me to know that if we make Barack Obama the next president that our children and your children’s futures will be secure and bright.”

And then he moves into view.

The crowd explodes. I’m sure I’m not the only one in here whose hair on the back of his neck is standing up.

“Hello everybody,” are the first words out of his mouth. The crowd explodes again.

Oh, Barry, say no more. You had me after, “Hello everybody.”
