Got that, you Kloset KKKers? Obama is perfect; thus to vote against him is to confirm you hate black people. What hubris.

What with the Bush legacy of reckless war and economic mismanagement, 2008 is a year that favors the generic Democratic candidate over the generic Republican one.

Trouble is generics don’t run. Specifics do.

Yet Barack Obama, with every natural and structural advantage in the presidential race, is running only neck-and-neck against John McCain, a sub-par Republican nominee with a list of liabilities longer than a Joe Biden monologue. Obama has built a crack political operation, raised record sums, and inspired millions with his eloquence and vision. McCain has struggled with a fractious campaign team, lacks clarity and discipline, and remains a stranger to charisma. Yet at the moment, the two of them appear to be tied. What gives?

Here’s my partial list of reasons:

Obama is spectacularly unqualified. His nomination almost counts as satire: emotionally needy party hands nomination to man with zero accomplishments because he’s half-black.

Obama is leftwing and America is not.

Obama is as corrupt as any other pol coming out of Chicago’s machine.

Obama is stunningly arrogant (”Future generations will look back at this moment…etc”), especially for one with such a thin resume.

Obama has thin skin for a politician. Of course, when you realize he never really had to earn his two elective offices, you understand why. He thinks the White House is his birthright.

Obama plays the race card with impunity.

Obama scoffs at the notion of American exceptionalism, and in fact, seems embarassed by it.

He’s a transnationalist at a time when the West (Europe, Britain) is suffering cultural and political rot. There’s enough cheap anti-Americanism extant without electing a president who is instinctively anti-American.

Obama supports intrusive government programs such as Equal Pay for Equal Work.

Obama would cripple economic growth with higher taxes, then try to amend the problem he creates with government economic meddling.

Obama supports taking a fixed percentage of US GDP and redistributing it via the UN to more deserving countries. Today, the US is already extraordinarily generous, but Obama doesn’t believe it. Giving $$$ to the UN is like signing an alcoholic up for the Wine of the Month club.

He has a whiny, spoiled ingrate wife who, along with Barack, promotes black victimization — poison to the very people it’s supposed to help.
