Obama’s foreign intrigue
Obama:
With all due deference to separation of powers, last week the Supreme Court reversed a century of law that I believe will open the floodgates for special interests — including foreign corporations — to spend without limit in our elections. (Applause.) I don’t think American elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities. (Applause.) They should be decided by the American people. And I’d urge Democrats and Republicans to pass a bill that helps to correct some of these problems.
Ahem, which candidate disabled the credit card address verification system for online donors, making it easy for Euro-elitists to help him win?
Unlike other campaigns, Obama’s staff disabled the “Address Verification System” that checks credit-card numbers against addresses to ensure their validity.
The result was that people could make multiple donations under different names using the same card, in violation of reporting requirements and donation limits d there was nothing to stop foreign nationals from donating directly to the Obama campaign. As Scott Johnson noted in this newspaper, “No presidential campaign has ever before received such a gargantuan sum of money from unidentified contributors.”
Bill Clinton got caught accepting campaign money from the Chinese army and brazenly called for stronger campaign finance laws.
Clinton was a liar you kinda wanted to believe. Few have that gift, Obama included.
